2. A Fatal Voyage: Will Morvoren and Uxio discover a killer or a vengeful ghost?
With the approach of the Samhain festival to honour the dead, the captain of a merchant ship tells Morvoren an eerie tale of a voyage plagued by misfortune, illness and death, wanting her, as Dumnonia's priestess, to help rid him of its source. The captain is sure that the two deaths are from natural causes, since no one could have got to the second man, whose body was found blocking the door to his cabin. Despite this, the Christian deacon, Uxio, believes the problems are the result of a murderer onboard.

Circumstances and their different personalities cause Uxio and Morvoren to quarrel yet again over how to find out the truth, so they make a wager to investigate the mystery separately. Each one will try to be the first to discover how two people on the ship died.

There seems to be no link between the dead men and no way for them to have been murdered, but both had their enemies. As Morvoren and Uxio struggle to make sense of the mystery, what fresh troubles will they face? They are both determined to best the other, but will a killer outwit them both?

This is the second novel in this exciting historical mystery series set in the Celtic Dumnonii tribe in England in the Dark Ages, a time of turmoil with conflicting beliefs and cultures.

4. Murder by Another Name: When is a crime not a crime?
Morvoren, the priestess of the Dumnonii in Dark Age Britain, has to travel most of the length of their land to solve a new mystery that the chieftan, Comux, cannot deal with. Kenosaglas has killed his life-long friend, Eudaf, claiming that Eudaf was a spy for the nearby Saxons. If Kenosaglas is telling the truth then he cannot be punished for his actions. If he killed Eudaf for another reason, Kenosaglas is a murderer who will probably face execution.

Morvoren faces a seemingly unsolvable puzzle since no one witnessed Eudaf's death except for his killer. Even the two men's families can tell her nothing helpful and Kenosaglas's own children insist that Eudaf was not a traitor. Her search for the truth leads her to another confrontation with the Saxon leader who once wanted to marry her. In the meantime, the Christian deacon Uxio has been left behind at Bran Castle and has a reunion that leaves his future with the Dumnonii in question. The danger increases for Morvoren, who is under the protection of Comux, the son of the queen who hates her. When her life depends on it, will she be able to trust him?
