Overview: I'm a Christian author who likes to write stuff that might be a little more off-the-wall than what the average Christian reader is used to. I'm positive that the Lord has a sense of humor (I mean, come on, have you seen the platypus? Seriously! You just know He laughed His head off at that creation!) and I like to make sure I get that humor in there somewhere.

So my books might lean a little more toward a PG rating, but nothing more than what you might get in a kid's cartoon these days. I like believable characters who make people smile, cry, think, and yeah...laugh.

Haughty Eyes & Alibis (#1)
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE ODD COUPLE and THE GOLDEN GIRLS MIX IT UP? MEET MADDIE AND MAGGIE!

When Wally Wonka—my best fur friend—found a body in the woods near our church, I thought it was a case of a tourist who’d partied too hard. After all, that happened a lot in our sleepy little town during tourist season, though they usually don’t end up dead under a tree.

Or dead at all.

But when it becomes clear the woman had been murdered and it's obvious Jonathan Donovan, our local police detective, is utterly incompetent (I speak from authority, since I used to babysit the brat), Maggie and I decide to take matters in hand and do a little investigating of our own. After all, we’ve watched a lot of detective shows.

How hard could crime solving be?

While dingier than a bat in a bell tower on Sunday morning, Maggie proves her Southern charm and flirtatious ways are a boon for our sleuthing adventure. Coupled with my reasoning and observation skills, we make a pretty good team. As Maggie would say, "we're thicker than two peas in a pod."

Our confidence is shattered, though, when another woman turns up dead. The police don't think the deaths are related, but they didn't notice what I had... both women had a strange mark on the bottom of their foot.

Is it possible our sweet little seaside town might have welcomed a serial killer into its midst? The thought is terrifying, to say the least. But what was worse…

It looks like Maggie is next in line.

Lying Tongues & Frosted Buns (#2)
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE ODD COUPLE and THE GOLDEN GIRLS MIX IT UP? MEET MADDIE AND MAGGIE!

Crown Hill breathes a sigh of relief once the Fishhook Killer is captured. But when yet another body is found and the police fail to find the murderer, will Maddie and Maggie be able to solve the crime?

Joining the ladies is Robert, Maddie's long-time friend and newly commissioned boyfriend... or is that manfriend? (Maddie secretly calls him her "old man"), along with trusty dog Wally Wonka and even the feisty feline Samuel Adams, as they wade through a murky puddle of clues that all seem to point to one very surprising suspect...

While Maddie relies on logic to work on solving the crime, Maggie uses her southern charm to wile information out of everyone who walks into her new bakery, gathering intel faster than a fall squirrel collecting nuts. Add in Robert's police connections to the mix and they have a recipe for a great "whodonut!" (Doughnut, get it? Huh?)

Bad dad jokes aside, things don't go exactly as planned when they decide to confront their prime suspect but discover that crime-solving isn't as easy as pie after all.

And sometimes it can be downright sticky.
