To complicate matters, she finds herself attracted to Dean, about whom she knows very little, only that he was an undercover agent elsewhere. Normally a loner, she finds him easy to talk to as she unburdens herself of a past that she had kept secret for years. As the case becomes more complicated and passions are stirred, questions arise about a mole in the force and Dean is on the list of possible suspects. Chelsea is torn between trust and doubt, fear and love, and her desire for revenge and letting the law take its course. The strands of the plot become intertwined with unexpected twists and turns, and Chelsea finds herself caught in a life and death struggle from a most unexpected quarter. Ten years ago, a college student with autism named Stanley Douglass disappeared without a trace while taking a road trip alone. Several days ago, he returned to his family home in Savannah, Georgia. The Savannah Police Department hires a family counselor/therapist, Lydia Chan, to reintegrate Stanley Douglass into normal society and find out what happened to him during all those years. After some time Lydia Chan informs the Police that she thinks the Douglass family is hiding something. She can’t put her finger on it, but she thinks something isn’t right about this entire case. She requests Detective David Wilson to help her expose them. At first, Detective Wilson feels threatened by Lydia Chen but soon finds her outspoken nature to be quite charming. He agrees to indulge her further and re-opens the 10-year old case of Stanley's disappearance. He was the lead detective in the case of Stanley Douglass and is still haunted by the fact that the case is unsolved. He is willing to help Lydia at every turn to solve the mystery of Stanley Douglass and hopefully redeem himself as an investigator.
Missing Rita
Rita Sutter, a young nurse, is found in her apartment murdered with no murder weapon in sight. Upon further investigation, the police find a bloody photo of a young woman on the murder scene floor and they automatically have a suspect. Detective Lohan, a grizzled veteran on the police force, takes the case along with his young and inexperienced partner, Sam. The two detectives soon realize there is a lot more to the case than meets the eye. Events take a sinister turn when Rita’s body disappears from the morgue and no-one has a clue where it is. Detective Lohan and Sam set off on a trail to find out who the girl in the photo is. The more they pursue the case the better they understand their victim, Rita, who is painted as an evil person by those who knew her, including her ex-husband and therapist. After much digging around the detectives suspect that Rita may have faked her own death. Both detective Lohan and Detective Sam lead dramatic personal lives and they fight to remain focused on the case. Lohan’s cheating spouse and Sam’s raging possessive boyfriend make this a steep hill to climb. Will they eventually find Rita Sutter’s body? Or will they find her alive?
