Feeling guilty about the recent row she and Andrea had, and under suspicion herself, Ellie teams up with her daughter and mother-in-law to follow the clues and solve the mystery - much to the annoyance of Ellie's detective inspector ex-husband.
Then a second villager is found dead. Can the three Blix women find the killer and return the community to safety?
2. Murder in the Bluebell Woods - A death at a village wedding. A stolen bow and arrow. Three women sleuths.
Spring has arrived in Lower Wootton and Ellie Blix's cleaning customers have started cancelling. Then, at a wedding at the old folly in the woods, she finds her friend Tracy's husband dead, an arrow in his back.
All the evidence points to Tracy. Distraught, she asks Ellie to find out what happened and clear her name. But now that Ellie is finally back on cordial terms with her detective inspector ex-husband, she must decide if she is prepared to jeopardise their relationship by sleuthing again.
When Ellie learns that two trusted locals have been acting suspiciously, she cannot rest. The Blix women – mother, daughter and mother-in-law – vow to find the murderer before tragedy strikes again.
Then Ellie receives a death threat and it’s clear that her sleuthing could cost her everything.
4. Murder in the Hot Air Balloon - A missing body. A ruined wedding anniversary. Three women sleuths.
It's winter in Lower Wootton and the neighbourhood foxes are disturbing Ellie Blix's sleep. So, when she's woken at sunrise by the excited shrieks of three people in a hot air balloon, she shoves in her ear plugs.
But she's woken again, this time by her daughter. When Zoe says the couple in the balloon were having a row, Ellie realises something is wrong. What happened to the third person?
In the morning, a local chef is missing and his wife is asking if anyone has seen him. She tells Ellie he hasn't returned from celebrating his brother’s wedding anniversary ... in a hot air balloon.
When police inquiries fail to find the missing man, Blix Investigators must find out: did he go on the balloon trip or not? And is he dead or alive?
The trouble is – someone will do anything to stop them from getting to the truth.
