The C.T. Ferguson series by Tom Fowler (#1-4)
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 1.12 MB
Overview: Tom Fowler was born and raised in Baltimore and still resides in Maryland. He is an unabashed homer for Baltimore sports teams. His full-time job is in the field of computer security. Even from a young age, Tom wanted to write. He was about seven or eight, so the stories were brief and awful. Among them was a "murder mystery" in which young Tom, a polite lad, referred to everyone as "Mr. Patrick" or "Miss Jane." The most interesting thing about the alleged murder mystery was that no one died (and, in fact, everyone recovered quite nicely in the hospital). In the intervening years, Tom has gotten over this problem with killing characters in his stories. When not working or writing, Tom enjoys spending time with his family and friends, reading, sports, movies, and writing brief bios in the third person.
Genre: Fiction > Mystery/Thriller

The Reluctant Detective (#1)
It's novice PI C.T. Ferguson's first case. He wants something simple. Instead, he gets Alice.
Hacker C.T. Ferguson has never taken the easy route. While living in China, he worked against the government. Then they arrested and deported him. Back home, he uses his digital skills as a private investigator.
Suspecting her husband is cheating on her, Alice hires C.T. to investigate. He soon learns Alice has her own problems, namely a ruthless adversary squeezing her for money. Even the suspicious death of her husband can't buy Alice a break.
C.T. stays on the case because he hates seeing innocent people pushed around. His persistence puts his life in danger. If C.T. can't figure out what happened, both he and Alice will face deadly consequences.
The Unknown Devil (#2)
A white hat hacker. A dark crime boss. A cyber showdown for the fate of the city.
Hacker C.T. Ferguson uses his illicit digital skills as a private investigator. When a legendary programmer vanishes off the grid, he can’t pass up the opportunity to solve the mysterious disappearance.
Soon after taking the case, he receives a visit from a notorious Baltimore gangster looking to put some heavy computing power behind his nascent criminal empire.
Turning down the ransomware gig puts C.T. on a dangerous shortlist. But it also may have just given him the clue he needs to crack his missing persons case wide open.
Following the trail of digital footprints into the real world, C.T. must decode the connection between the MIA programmer and the criminal underworld before his hometown falls prey to a high-tech reign of terror.
The Workers of Iniquity (#3)
A bankrupt client. A missing husband. One cyber sleuth will follow the money trail to the root of all evil.
Private investigator C.T. Ferguson believes justice shouldn’t come with a price tag. As a trust fund baby and former hacker, he uses his considerable resources to track down criminals who prey on society’s most vulnerable members. So when an old acquaintance falls on hard times, he vows to solve the mystery of her missing husband and empty bank account.
Following the digital trail, he uncovers a grisly hotel room crime scene. But the husband’s ruthless loan shark won’t draw the line at one dead body. When the clues take an unexpected turn, C.T. realizes he’s stumbled onto a sinister black market where humanity’s worst sins are sold to the highest bidder.
Before the criminal syndicate sets its sights on him, C.T. must act quickly to short circuit their deplorable operation before more victims fall prey to their dark designs.
Already Guilty (#4)
A murdered police officer. The thin blue line. One PI will take on the system to get justice.
For someone who never got along well with the cops, C.T. Ferguson finds himself in a good place. His relationship with the Baltimore police is as solid as it's been. He and his detective cousin Rich are almost friends. Then the news comes in: Officer down.
The police quickly arrest a suspect. C.T. wants nothing to do with the case. You can't always get what you want. When a vicious assault threatens his life, C.T. must figure out who really killed the murdered officer. It may cost him his life, not to mention his improved relationship with Rich, to find out.
