Witches of Keyhole Lake Mysteries by Tegan Maher (#1-2,14)
Requirements: ePUB Reader, 1.43 MB
Overview: I was born and raised in the South and even hung my motorcycle helmet in Colorado for a few months. I've always had a touch of wanderlust and have never feared just packing up and going on new adventures, whether in real life or via the pages of a great book. When I was a little girl, I didn't want to grow up to be a writer—I wanted to raise unicorns and be a superhero. When those gigs fell through, I chose the next best thing: creating my own magical lands filled with adventure, magic, humor, and romance.
Genre: Supernatural Cozy Mystery

1. Sweet Murder
What's a witch to do when the meanest man in the county drops dead in his coleslaw during her shift at the local barbecue joint? Noelle does what any good Southern girl would do: she flicks a wrist to clean up the mess, then thanks the stars for doing the world a favor. She should have known nothing's that easy. The Magical Oversight Committee is on her back because she can't keep her unruly little sister in line and the hunky new city-slicker sheriff would like to take her to dinner, except he suspects her of murder. To top it off, her cursed miniature donkey is being particularly calamitous and the old hens at the local beauty parlor are laying bets on her love life. A skydiving best friend and a bossy, living-impaired aunt become the least of her worries when the killer decides to bump up the plan by bumping her off. Can she figure it out in time to save all that she holds dear, or will Noelle be next on the list of folks who've turned up dead?
2. Murder to the Max
Granted, having somebody bash you in the head with a toilet tank lid would make anybody cranky, but when local contractor Max Wheeler meets his end that way, he takes it more personally than most. As any perturbed ghost looking for justice would, he goes straight to the local sheriff to report himself murdered. With yet another paranormal reality to wrap his head around, Hunter dives into the investigation and learns that there's even more weirdness beneath the surface of his small southern town than he thought. Just when he's come to terms with the fact that he's dating a real witch, he gets a trial-by-fire introduction to his living-impaired citizen population, too. On top of everything else, things get ugly when everything from briskets to biscuits start coming up missing all over town. There are some things it's just not okay to mess with, but when a sticky-fingered pick-pocket willingly takes the wrap, things just aren't adding up. All Noelle wants is a finished pool instead of a giant mud hole in her yard, and to get her bakery up and running, but cranky ghosts, gossipy but (mostly) lovable old hens, and disappearing pies just keep getting in the way of progress. And then, of course, there's the murder that just won't solve itself. Is it really too much to ask that people stop killing each other long enough for a witch to get some work done?
14. Murder in the Mountains
When a weekend getaway turns deadly, Noelle and Hunter have to solve the mystery before anyone else ends up dead. Everything is peachy for Noelle. Her business is clicking right along, her family is healthy and happy, and all her doubts about taking things to the next level with Hunter were for nothing. The only tiny complaint she has is that she's been burning the candle at both ends and needs a break. When Hunter surprises her with a weekend getaway to her favorite cabin in the mountains, she can't wait to get away for some fishing, four-wheeling, and front-porch sitting. As usual, though, trouble finds her when she goes out for a peaceful morning walk and stumbles over the body of a missing hiker. With his girlfriend still missing, Noelle and Hunter rush to find her before she, too, falls victim to the mountain murderer.
