But this huge dream got dashed a few years ago when my ex-business partner went to federal prison for theft and embezzlement.
It's taken me the past few years to get Drive-By Cooking operational again after the feds confiscated and gutted the thing. (No, I'm not the slightest bit salty, but the authorities will have other ideas soon.)
The day he's released from prison is the first day of the rest of my life—the day my dream begins. But it quickly turns into a nightmare when I find his body in the water at Little Bay, the beach where I serve my Tex-Mex delights to the tourists and locals.
I experience many ups and downs, especially when the only competition in town starts bullying me for my involvement in my ex-business partner's schemes. He's not convinced I'm innocent, and I have a heck of a time trying to make him believe otherwise.
Not to mention the U.S. Marshal who thinks I'm guilty of murder.
