1. A SHROUD FOR DELILAH - In the small town of Broadminster, Detective David Webb faces a ruthless murderer targeting divorcees.
Webb is called to the home of recently separated forty-year-old Linda Meadowes. Her body has been discovered with a stab wound to the heart.
Despite the brutality of the crime, there are no signs of forced entry or robbery. The only clue left behind is the word ‘Delilah’ scrawled in red lipstick.
What is the significance of the name? And without a murder weapon, how will Webb track down the killer?
The investigation takes an unnerving turn when gruesome objects begin showing up at another woman's flat: a dead pigeon, a dismembered moth.
Webb fears she may be the next victim.

2. A NECESSARY END - There’s an uneasy tension in the air at the Pendricks’ New Year’s Eve party.
For months, Nancy and Oliver Pendrick have been fighting about her London-based catering business. Oliver resents her independence. But, wary of repeating the tragic mistakes of his first wife, Nancy refuses to vegetate in the sleepy village of Frecklemarsh.
When the guests arrive, the couple are in the throes of another blazing row, and Oliver storms off into the crowd.
To add fuel to the fire, several old flames have resurfaced for the festivities. And Oliver’s daughter Rose – an eerie replica of her mother – is stirring up ghosts from the past.
So when Nancy’s body turns up several days later, strangled to death and dumped on the side of a secluded country lane, the rumours are set to fly.
Regarding all the party guests as potential suspects, Detective David Webb has his work cut out trying to identify the killer. It seems the Pendricks aren’t the only Frecklemarsh residents with skeletons in the closet, and nobody can be trusted.

3. PRETTY MAIDS ALL IN A ROW - Newlyweds Jessica and Matthew haven’t heard the stories about the previous occupant of the cottage they’re staying in. But Jessica can’t shake the feeling that someone is watching her.
Elsewhere in the sleepy village of Westridge, Detective David Webb is called out to a retirement home. The matron has been violently assaulted. She never saw her attacker, but reveals that they forced her to recite nursery rhymes.
The incident makes the local papers and other victims soon come forward – each account mentioning nursery rhymes.
Things take a sinister turn when a woman’s body is recovered from a neighbouring village. The body belongs to Freda Miller – the previous tenant of the newlyweds’ cottage.

4. DEATH SPEAKS SOFTLY - For weeks, Detective David Webb hasn’t had a case to really sink his teeth into. Then a constable reports the mysterious disappearance of a female student.
Attractive and French, Arlette Picard is Broadshire University’s resident femme fatale. So, exploring the obvious avenues of jealousy, lust, and rejection, Webb easily gathers a list of suspects.
But by the time Arlette’s parents arrive from France, he’s no closer to finding their daughter – dead or alive.
He asks a university professor to act as interpreter. But is immediately perturbed by the man’s oddly vacant face. What could be the need for such iron self-discipline?
Webb has a hunch he’s missing the bigger picture. And if he doesn’t piece things together soon, there’ll be ramifications he couldn’t ever have guessed at.
