Overview: Alan was born in Watford and went to university in Bangor, North Wales, where he studied English and Drama. He started working life in a travelling theatre company, visiting schools all over the country & writing much of their material. Alan later trained as a drama teacher at Nottingham University , but most of his work in connection with the theatre has been as a writer or director. Other jobs have included working as an editor and working in a day centre. He has written stories and dramas for the BBC.

Can he save Gran from the terrible Three Tests for Witches (eg pond ducking - if she swims she's a witch, if she drowns she's innocent.) For a boy who has never told a lie in his whole life - it's asking a lot.
Ditherus Wart: (Accidental) Gladiator - Based on the dubious members of the Wart family tree, each book in this series focuses on the adventurous life and turbulent times of a different Wart from pirate to gladiator as he (or she) experiences the peculiar misfortunes which befall all Warts throughout the centuries.
