Overview: Before Patrick Jennings was an author of childrens books, he was a boy who read childrens books. He lived in a small town in Indiana, and his nickname wasn't Tiger. He wanted it to be, though. He had a friend who everyone called Tiger, and this guy wasn't even like a Tiger. Not one bit. Patrick was way more tigerish.

Just right for fans of such writers as Louis Sachar, Andrew Clements, Dan Gutman, and James Howe. Rufus's first Christmas with Fido, the guinea pig that acts like a dog, is not what he expected. Shredded wrapping paper, opened presents, a toppled Christmas tree are only some of the ingredients, but the main one is humor just right for middle-graders and their parents!
2. Guinea Dog 2 (2013) - When Rufus goes back to school, he learns that he and his guinea dog, Fido, are now celebrities. All his classmates want to see his pet, and some of them (the horrible Dmitri) even want to buy her. Rufus hates the attention so much he decides to remake Fido into a regular guinea pig, but then she disappears! Did she run away, did one of the kids kidnap her, or is she hurt? Never fear, Fido is found, and she is not alone! A new guinea pig is with her, and this one acts like a squirrel--just right for rodent-loving, chinchilla-brushing Lurena, the girl Rufus can't get away from.
3. Guinea Dog 3 (2014) - When Rufus, Murphy, Lurena, and their pets go camping, they meet Pedro, a shy boy who seems afraid of just about everything--especially the water. One thing leads to another and the kids go into a nearby town to buy him a pet to cheer him up--a guinea pig, naturally. Yet what they bring home may look like a guinea pig, but it can swim--like an otter!
