Pie Rats series by Cameron Stelzer (Books 1-5)
Requirements: ePUB Reader, 14MB
Overview:Yes, Dr Cameron Stelzer is a real Doctor, not a made up one like Dr Seuss! However, with a Doctorate of Visual Arts, you won't find him hanging around a doctor's surgery (unless he accidently stabs himself with a pencil). Cameron was born in Hobart in 1977. He attended school in Adelaide before his family moved to Bundaberg, QLD. In primary school, Cameron wrote many short stories for the local newspaper. He still has a shoe box of gold certificates for his efforts. In high school Cameron discovered (with his first pair of glasses) that he had a passion for art. After attending university in Brisbane (where he did occasionally stab himself with a pencil), Cameron took his new Dr title and went to live in London. Searching for inspiration, he applied for a job at the Natural History Museum. It was here that he rekindled his love for children's literature and began writing stories inspired by the animals in the museum. When Cameron returned to Australia, he completed a graduate diploma in education and released the first instalment in his Stroogle series of picture books. Eight years later, the sixth book in the series was published and followed on from three additional how-to-draw books. In 2012 Cameron received a grant to create the first book in his new Pie Rat series. The Pie Rat series have gone on to win a number of book awards internationally. Apart from writing and illustrating stories, Cameron enjoys running and mountain biking through the beautiful Daisy Hill forest (South-East QLD), where he lives with his wife and three daughters.

The Forgotten Map (Pie Rats, #1) - Winner of the 2014 Indie Reader Discovery Award for Children's Fiction. Whisker is a cyclone-surviving circus rat with a troublesome tail and a boat load of luck. When a strange ship pulls him out of the ocean, Whisker's new life as a Pie Rat apprentice begins. Welcome aboard the good ship Apple Pie - a peculiar pastry ship where cannons shoot mouldy pies, coloured pencils are used as peg-legs and the champion swords-rat fights with two scarlet scissor swords. The Forgotten Map is the first instalment in the Pie Rat series for children age 8+. It includes maps, diagrams and character sketches. Fast moving passages of text take the reader on a swashbuckling adventure where danger and humour intertwine in true pirate fashion. The book takes a look at the meaning and importance of family through the desperate eyes of a young rat who has lost everything.
The King's Key (Pie Rats Book 2) - Whisker is a Pie Rat apprentice with an appetite for danger and a flair for lucky escapes. He goes from one catastrophe to the next quicker than the time it takes to raise a pair of giant underpants up the mast! With the mysterious Forgotten Map in his possession, Whisker embarks on the next stage of his quest to find the missing key. Together with his friends, Ruby Rat and Hook Hand Horace, Whisker must overcome a host of jungle dangers and outsmart the deadliest of enemies in his attempt to claim the key.
The Island of Destiny (Pie Rats Book 3) - Whisker is a Pie Rat apprentice on the treasure hunt of a lifetime. With the Forgotten Map and the King's Key safely in his grasp, Whisker joins the ratbag crew of the Apple Pie on their voyage to the mysterious Island of Destiny. Armed with scissor swords, flying pies and barrels of gravy, the Pie Rats must first pass through the Treacherous Sea where untold dangers lurk beneath the waves.
The Trophy of Champions (Pie Rats Book 4) - Every four years, the greatest pirate crews on the seven seas gather for an epic tournament of strength and skill.
In the Pirate Cup, there is no silver and no bronze, only gold, gold, gold for the winning team, and the legendary Trophy of Champions.
As an official entrant, Whisker has more on his mind than victory. He is on the trail of a fox in a black trench coat - and an answer...
Child of the Cloud (Pie Rats Book 5) - Deep in the heart of Aladrya stands a mighty mountain. Rising high above the clouds, its rocky crags and windswept cliffs are home to four species of birds. With only three days left until the full moon feast, Whisker's mission to save his sister hangs in the balance. Even if he can reach the mountain alive, he still has to outwit and out-fly the dreaded birds of prey.
