The Beginning (Spy Dogs #0) - “The Beginning” strays away from the main character, Puggy from the spy dogs series, by bringing in a cute little Pomeranian named Harper. Harper is one of the dogs that were kidnapped by the aliens, Zork and Cyze, in the first three stories. This prequel tells the tale of little Harper and his owners, Joseph and Jessica. Harper thought he would have a fun vacation with Joseph, but he was proven wrong when Jessica tried to call all of the shots, leading Harper to escape their cabin which ultimately gets him captured. This side story featuring Harper tells the story of how everything came to be and how spy dogs was created.
A Suspicious Neighbor (Spy Dogs #1) - One day as the loveable dog Puggy was spending time with his owner Bill, Puggy noticed something strange happening at the house next door to them. Puggy watched his new neighbor in suspicion as the man carried a large struggling black plastic bag. Being the curious dog that he was, he snuck out of his house and peered into the neighbor’s window that night once Bill was sleeping. What Puggy saw shocked him! In that house cages littered the ground and computers were set up everywhere! He saw animals locked up in cages and knew that these animals were the animals that were reported kidnapped.
Cat's Revenge (Spy Dogs #2) - Puggy is back for Part two in the Spy Dog series. Previously in “A Suspicious Neighbor,” Puggy saw a news report discussing the disappearances of dogs around the city. Right around that time, Puggy noticed that his next door neighbor did not look like a typical human. He learns later that the man is an alien who is responsible for the disappearances of the animals. The alien was experimenting on the dogs so that they could be modified with advanced technology. Due to a twist of fate, Puggy finds himself modified and it was up to him to stop the alien while making sure his owner Bill doesn’t find him out.
“Cat’s Revenge” begins when Bill comes home one day more excited than what he normally is. The reason for this is because Bill won a cat in a raffle! Unnerved by this, Puggy couldn’t do anything but become jealous of the fact that the cat would probably earn more of Bill’s attention. When the cat finally does arrive, Puggy is alarmed to see that the cat was the same cat from the alien’s house that he had beaten months before. The aliens were back and they were using the cat, who they call Killer, to complete their goals. Puggy is now on the journey to fend off Killer and stop the aliens from acquiring his body, his home, Bill and the entire world.
However, Puggy is not alone in this battle because Mannie, his Jack Russell friend, is here to aid him. Will the dogs succeed in taking down Killer and the aliens, or will Killer be too much for Puggy to handle?
The Aliens Invasion (Spy Dogs #3) - Puggy and Mannie are back in their last adventure to take on the aliens once and for all. In the beginning of the series in “A Suspicious Neighbor,” Puggy first made contact with an alien who had moved in next door to him. This alien, Cyze, had captured animals to experiment on so that he could control them to do whatever he asked of them.
A new alien was introduced in “Cat’s Revenge” as Zork, who had taken up residence at a blue house a few blocks from Puggy to help Cyze with the experiments on the animals. In book one, due to fate, Puggy was modified with advanced technology which led him to become a spy. Saving Mannie, his Jack Russel friend, in book one, Mannie begins showing his true worth and after becoming modified in book two, Mannie is now a key player in “The Aliens Invasion.”
In “The Aliens Invasion,” the aliens were not easy to find this time because they had left the blue house and disguised themselves as humans. To make matters worse, they had figured out how to control the animals completely! Puggy and Mannie knew that they wouldn’t stand a chance against the animals so they needed a plan that involved not fighting the animals, but having the animals fight for them.
But what’s this? Puggy appears to have come down with a dreadful illness and is unable to perform to the best of his abilities. It seems like after this everything started to go downhill fast and more problems started to arise. It was up to Mannie now to try to save the day while Puggy was on the sideline giving the animals instructions on what was needed to be done.
