Overview: Barbara M Hodges moved to Nipomo, CA twenty years ago from the San Francisco area. She and her husband Jeff met and married in Salem, Oregon in 1972, but both are California natives. She has always had a love for words and stories, but didn't begin to write until her move to the central coast. Her first book, The Blue Flame, was published in 1994. Since then Barbara has written, six other published fiction novels. Barbara is a huge NASCAR fan -- go, Carl Edwards -- and she and Jeff try to make it to at least one race a year in their motor home. Of course the two basset hounds that own them, Ophelia and Hamlet always go along too. Their sassy feline, Wallace, remains at home to guard the castle. When she can find some time away from writing, Barbara also enjoys dabbling with tole painting.

#1 - The Blue Flame
Kelsey Cafferty has been dead for seven years, or so her sister Regan believes, until a stranger with a blue flame upon his cheek, identical to the one on her shoulder, shows up on her doorstep. The man, Peter Canterville, tells Regan that he is a mage from Daradawn, chosen by the Power at birth and marked with the blue flame, as is she.
Kelsey isn't dead, the man says, she has become a warrior and fights for Queen Tessa, against the dark mage, Dirkk, a battle they are losing.
Regan's power will make the difference. She must come with him through the rift, and into Daradawn, to save his world, and her sister, Kelsey.
#2 - The Emerald Dagger
The Power, granted to the Chosen, is that stands between the dark mage Dirkk and the ravage of Daradawn. Dirkk has not been idle of the seven years the rift has been closed.With the help of Dadaodh, the demon who, lives inside the emerald dagger, he is again ready to challenge Queen Tessa for all of Daradawn. To this end he has conjured new dark beings to aid him: fenris’ena, once mountian wolves, now large beasts who hear only his words, and etain’daman, fairie demons with razor-sharp wing edges and poisoned talons. It will take the coming together of man, elf, fairie , dwarf, unicorn and dragon to defeat the dark magic. Can differences be put aside between those of the air and those of the ground? Can Regan Canterville, even though a chosen of the Power, reason with an enraged dragon? If not all will be lost.
