It was supposed to be a simple job. Pose as a mage long enough to steal a book from the academy. But during the final exam, a possessed student shattered the floor, and the prince and I took a tumble towards certain death. Our miraculous survival is thanks only to Lucian, my demon companion – and it came at a price.
Now I must return to the academy to finish the job I never wanted, hoping Alexander doesn’t turn me in as a fraud, or worse, a demon sympathizer. I saved his life, and now mine is in his hands.
As if keeping up with classes isn’t hard enough already, the floating kingdom of Reverie appears to be sinking, and there’s no way to save it without the blood of a man who disappeared years ago. Also, I’m pretty sure one of my professors is trying to kill me, and when a terrifying demon disturbs a private moment with prince charming, they very nearly succeed.
Can I keep my secret long enough to protect those I care about? Or will my quest for the secret of magic shatter everything I hold dear?
