Wee-Folk Trilogy by Dave Swinyard (#1-2)

Overview: Dave is the author of the Highlanders series, which is set in Scotland during the early part of the 18th century. He grew up in south London, but left home at the age of 16 to join the RAF. During his time in the RAF he spent many years in the north of Scotland where he spent much of his spare time walking in the mountains, and visiting museums and castles. It was the sights and history of the area that inspired him to write.

1. Unseen
Summoned to appear before Mother Nature to answer for his crimes, along with the rest of the wee-folk clan, Hamish is surprised by her judgement. It leaves them facing an uncertain and dangerous future, and the clan’s fate is solely in Hamish’s hands. His decision to seek safety in a land on the other side of the world is fraught with problems, not least of which is how to get there…Furthermore, there are older and darker magical powers in the world that they will encounter, so just how much safer will it be?

HELP US…A message scrawled in the snow; was it a genuine plea for help or was it a trap? That was the dilemma facing Hamish. It was written in moon runes, so clearly intended to be seen by him, as only one of the wee-folk could read them, but was it genuine? Fifty years ago he’d brought a chosen few of the wee-folk out of Scotland to a safe place on the far side of the world where, after defeating a wraith, they had prospered. Now he had to decide whether to risk all of that with a journey back to their original home to save the rest of the clan. If it was genuine, he had to go, he couldn’t ignore it. If it was a trap, he could be facing dark magic and be putting all of the wee-folk at risk.
