Hey! Ive got manyyyy ebooks and often I have ebooks from one author lying in 4 different folders some by author name some by series name (you get the picture one big mess) and it is impossible to organize this quantity by hand by putting less than about thirty hours of work :P Now my question is there any program that can organize it for me? Tried Calibre but dont know how or even if it can organize folders on disc. When I make library there it looks good in program but on disc some of books are like FOLDER WITH BOOK NAME in it FOLDER WITH AUTHOR NAME and in it book and several more folders for same author just different book :) So any solution to my problem?

persevere with calibre, as you update the details in calibre, it will sort out the folder structure for you. if you have loads though od sugget importing in batches.

wish they would do a version for music and video

Unfortunately, you're just going to have to do it all manually. you could use Calibre to help with naming but ultimately, it sounds like you need to move files from one folder to another.

My advice is to just spend a weekend doing it once and for all. It's what I did it took a long time (10gb of files approx 20.5K files) but now it's all nice and ordered and sparkling....

Think of Calibre as a database. It doesn't matter where the book is as long as you can find it when you need it, right? Calibre lets you sort your books by title, author, genre, series, rating, whatever you like...then when you want to read a book, there's a View button at the top, Save to Disk to save it somewhere else, or you can hit the "Click to open" link to open the actual folder (but you shouldn't need to do that.)

my way is somewhat simplistic. i have a folder called "Books". under this i enter folders with the authors name, last name, first name. if author has several series, then under author i enter series name and then books in that. if i have a particular category, then i create folder under Books as Climate Change. then under that the authors name and then the books from that author. this works for a particular topic or subject. this works well for me.

i tend to think as others, this is going to be a manual process to do either over a long weekend or time.

good luck
