I am looking for some help in determining the best app for e-books on the ipad air...

I just ran into a problem where all 8000+ of my books were deleted off my ipad and I am having problems getting them all back on, It has taken me a week to just get about 3000 of them back on. I am looking at alternate options as apple doesn't seem to be taking the ibooks app seriously. I am willing to pay for an app, i just want to be able to sort all my books into collections and be able to read them.

I have come across good reviews about Marvin however nowhere can I find where it gives an idea if it will hold that many books...If anyone knows about Marvin or has any other suggestions please let me know.

Marvin works great and is probably the best alternative that I've found on any platform -- ios, android, pc, kindle or nook. You should also maybe consider putting your library into dropbox then accessing it through your device. Just about any ereader software (including Marvin) will do that

I am firmly in Calibre's court, I seem to be able to do anything I need to from there. I am still tinkering with getting it to be available on line for my Mom's nook to access, but everything else was extremely easy.

Moon + reader pro for android is superior to marvin for ios in pretty much every way. I have about 9800 books on my tablet and given the samsung s2 is superior to the ipad, it was an easy switch.
