I just found this site that was able to convert some of the files I had gotten recently from Valie to a compatible format for my Kobo, it's kind of nifty and all the files I converted seem to work fine. Check it out for yourselves....

You are a life-saver. I have been looking for a good one for days! This one works great, I have laready converted tons of books for on-the-go reading :)

I've just had a go at this with a pdf to epub and it certainly converts at lightening speed...but is it accurate?

Looking at it in Sigil it needs a lot of editing. Maybe my first try was unlucky? But I think it might be useful as a first stage but I reckon it's best to convert to epub and then use an epub editor to fine tune it manually.

Thanks for the link, looks promising
