What are the differences between the major formats?

I have a nook so I can read almost any format, however as a person new to readers I wanted to know if it was more advantageous to use one vs the other?

IMO, it depends on each personal taste. Since we're in mobile device world, mostly I read my books on my devices. On all my windows mobile devices, I like reading on my 02i best for its big resolution screen, using MSReader (LIT format) for its bookmark option and a very convenient 'next page button'. However, since I still haven't found similar reader for my Blackberry and Android devices, I prefer reading in PDF format in both devices for the same purpose, its bookmark option and using the sliding touch pad option for opening the next page. I have no experience yet on Nook, so I don't know how convenient the device for reading though I'm sure it gives a better result for it has bigger screen. I suppose, no matter what, having a bookmark menu in a reader is what I'm looking for more in a good reader. The book format ? I just have to convert it using any available converting apps on the net or what's already in my pc, :D
