I have an ebook collection that is all .doc files that I'd like to share but need to be converted to a useable format. What would you suggest as a format and what tool to convert them. It's over a 100 books so if possible a batch conversion would be great.
I just learned how to extract epub files from azw3 by searching through the site and reading some helpful tutorial posts on here so I know some of you smart ebook whiz's should be able to point me in the right direction :D
Thank you for any help!

I would pick Calibre to convert these files. I have 3k+ of books in my Calibre, many converted from other formats. Also, Calibre is capable of batch processing all the files at once.

Hmm.....Is there a plugin I need to install then? Because when I tried to use calibre to convert .doc files it said it was an unsupported file type. It would be easiest to use calibre, I agree with you there :)

Your best option is to open the doc files and save as html, then convert with Calibre. Which means that even though Calibre can batch convert, the saving will be a pain. And sometimes doc files lose the italics when converted, so the results may leave much to be desired. However, html files do convert well, provided the original doc had italics.

Alright, that sounds doable if a bit slow. I'll give it a try, thank you :)
