I find the PDF format the most unreadable on the device display. I was wondering why so many books are uploaded in this oversize format? And has anyone found a decent PDF reader that can actually display the PDF text in a readable way on device (WinMobile)? I have tried converters but there doesn't seem to be a reliable converter. Some duplicate paragraphs in the wrong places, some leave out spaces between words in some PDF docs. This format seems to be a problem for device users.

You can try it here http://www.wondershare.com/pro/anybizso ... erter.html it had done a good job so far. :-)

PDF is read beautifully on portables...so long as that device has reflow. PDF is also read nicely on an iPad. Some people also prefer reading PDF on their desktops/laptops.

When I only had my winmo device, I couldn't agree more with you. I didn't like reading books in PDF format. Not even the e-magazines (since I'm a fan of Penthouse and Playboy, :D ).

However, my above opinion changed a bit after I had my samsung galaxy s android since I can't find any good LIT books reader on it yet. So I started reading PDF books. It's quite ok. Some PDF Readers have good features to slide over pages.

I'm afraid I'm stuck with LIT books on my winmo device that I stop looking for good PDF readers on it, :?

The best way to get a decent PDF book is from html-formatted books converted to Word which then converted to PDF using the feature added in MS-Word. That's what I usually do since I don't have any good powerful PDF converter what with DRM-related found in some other book formats to work out,

Unfortunately, with other OS devices around, some prefer these PDF books than other formats,

Mobipocket creator works great as well as calibre - both free.

Calibre is my best friend for converting MOST ebooks, especially if they're .mobi or .lit... but converting pdf is tricky with calibre at times because sometimes there's spaces where they shouldn't be and whatnot. So whenever I request for ebooks I request it to be in .epub since my ebook reader reads .epubs the best. But to each they're own. I have an Aluratek Libre in colour and pdf files are usually quite large in size and take up a lot of room and memory space. So that's why I prefer .epubs too.

I have issues when reading pdf on my Galaxy tab 10.1... Some magazines in pdf format are large in size (30mb or larger) and the images inside are in a very high resolution so when i open then on my 10.1 screen the downscale making the distorted and unreadble.. Anyone else having issues like that? Any suggestion?
I've tried to optimize pdf but the only thing that does is make the file smaller by making the image qualitily a bit worse without changing the actual resolution... any help will me appreciated
