Im not sure if this is the right forum to post this or not but I am looking for a real simple epub reader for Android - just click on the file in a folder and it opens. No bookshelf No muss. My 80 yr old mom is driving me crazy with problems she creates with shelves and sorting. Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

My hubs and I both use Kindle, but we also have a Fire we'll use occasionally that sounds like it might be helpful?
If you put it on the library page, it's in color and shows the cover of the book and the only thing she'd have to do is scroll up or down to find the cover, but it stays on that library page.
I have to hit the home page to bring it back.
There's no sorting either, it puts them on the page as you've loaded them.
But they're mobi files, not epub.
Btw, they cost about $40 now, so they're super cheap.

Hope this helps you :)
Good luck!!

I use moon+reader. it's cool and able to provide all functions I need. TTS with Ivona voice is pretty convenient and I can listen to a book instead of reading sometime on the road.

I use Moon + Reader on my phone (Mate 20 Lite with Android 9) and I am very happy with it. Every time I download a book I insert it into the phone folder and then simply click on the file, the program opens it immediately without problems :)
I use the free version and I like it even if there are some AD and not all the extra features of the Pro version
