Hi all! I am new in here and I am trying to organize my ebooks but haven't found a way that I like, so I was wondering what were your methods.
For now I have them organized in the programme that came with my sony e-reader. It is good but I would like it better if I could organize the folders like you do in the regular way.

So How is your E-library organized?

Personally, I have a nook and I keep all my books on memory sticks, that way if the computer crashes or gets a virus, I don't lose my collection. However, there are several good programs that you can use to organize your books on your computer. Calibre is a great program for organizing your books as well as converting files ( like from pdf to .epub, or mobi, etc...) also if you go to CNET and check out their free downloads they have a a number of ebook organization /library programs that are free. CNET is careful about checking out the programs they have, so you can feel comfortable about getting clean software. Just my 2cents worth. good luck

Calibre is your best bet. With features that allow you to update series, author names, book titles and adding plugin's to enhance the overall outlook. At first I was apprehensive about Calibre myself but in the end its been a lifesaver.

Caliber gets my vote too. You can quick switch between libraries to keep different collections separate.

My favorite feature is "sharing over the net". This allows you to access you library from any computer thru the Internet, or even from your smartphone.

I didn't Knew you could add plugin's to Calibre. I am going to try it since it seems it has a lot of good feedback.I donwload it once but I didn't thought you could do so much stuff but I guess I didn't really take a good look.
Which plugin's would you recommend?

Well, I added the Barnes and Noble plugin (better covers), Manage Series, Quality Check are a few.

I use Calibre too. The best bit for me is it sorts everything out in folders under author, then under book name in my files automatically. Then I just copy that to my external HD every few months so I have a back-up.

The Find Duplicates plug-in. I use the Search the Internet plug-in a fair amount, also.

I can't comment on alternatives to Calibre (maybe someone else can?), but Calibre is so user friendly.

I found a plug in that removes the DRM from Amazon books so that I can read any of my ebooks on either my kindle or my epub reader.

DRM removal is one of those taboo things to talk about here and elsewhere. Yes, we know it exist its just we talk about it privately in hushed tones. Sort of like when a stranger walks into a wild west saloon sort of tones.
