Ellabankss , I been using kindle since it first came out years ago personally I have never had any problems . They have great customer service and have never deleted or gave me any problems over my books or cloud drive. I tend to get my books directly from the publisher or the publishers store sine you get deals.. I wouldn't worry they know people get books from other stores

mishomosh43, to turn wifi off of the kindle paperwhite, you tap the three-line corner area->settings->airplane mode and turn it on. If you haven't updated the firmware, you're now able to turn it on/off while in an e-book.

I haven't had problems with this, but I never keep anything that I haven't gotten from Amazon on cloud . . . I only have the wifi on if I want to sometimes browse or dl an ebook from Amazon, but other than that I keep the wifi off (to save battery).

Well, I first got a Kindle 3 in August 2011 and immediately started DL books for piratebay and demonoid. I bought a lot too. Now, two years later, our household has: two Kindle Fires, three Kindle 3s, and one Kindle Paperwhite. Each is stocked with paid for and downloaded books. I also pay the $79 a year for Amazon Prime, and I would estimate that our household spends an additional $40 per month on either paperback books, other items or kindle downloads per month. I have broken three kindles by dropping or sitting on them and each time they were replaced FREE and shipped to me with 2 Day Shipping - at no cost to me.

I couldn't be happier with Amazon.com I am a long time customer and they have gotten many of my hard earned dollars and will continue to do so. Their products and their customer service is top notch. I doubt very much if they care what is on my Kindles as long as the dollars keep flowing their way. At least I hope so!

Mstigerlily I can only assume you're in America because nowhere else would a company replace their products for free to a customer who broke them through their own stupidity. (that's what would be said here, not my words.)
You can't get so much as a replacement for a faulty product where I am. So if it's your own fault you broke something, you'd be laughed at at least. It's actually shocking to me that anyone would get anything for free, especially that way, no matter how much you spend with them.
That just doesn't happen where I'm from or where I now live. It's unthinkable. :/
Seriously, I'm amazed you get that in America. O.0

Makes me wonder if those "licenses" will be added to the inexplicable way Amazon are trying to sell second hand copies of books they haven't really sold. Do they steal the license back to "sell" it again now?
