No any backlit tablet is going to be the same for reading its all about the options though. I like the fire's ability to change the background colors of books from white to sepia. Also if I'm reading and don't know a word I touch it and a definition pops up. Lastly loading ebooks from this site is very easy drag and drop where it may not be for other devices.

All tablets (including kindle fire) are going to have the glare that e-ink ebook readers (mostly) avoid. The TV commercial with the woman with the e-ink Black and white kindle working at the pool while making fun of him having problems with the iPad with glare. Is interesting since the Kindle Fire will have similar (same) glare problems.
The software is similar with the apps on color tablets but features vary from app platform to another...

I just saw another Kindle eInk TV commercial making fun of tablets. I think it was different than the older ones, same concept, I just think it was a newer version. Very weird on how this hasn't bitten them on the butt yet....
Old ad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIrvamOXqxs
New ad that I just saw: Can't find it, I think one of the characters was under a closed beach umbrella trying to read.
Different PaperWhite ad that makes fun of tablets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2sHWTig-qk and another https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-dLMe0KR3E (or is this one a joke)
Regardless, they are still making these ads, there original one was from before the Kindle Fire came out, right?
