I have an e-book that i can only find in italian, called Abafi by Miklós Jósika. The only version i can find in english is a pdf file with horrendous translation.

If i translate the italian text with google translate, i get a perfect readable book. The problem is that i can't copy paste entire pages on my macbook, because there's a character limit to copy pasting text. So each page has to be dissected into 4 pieces and i have to copy paste 4 of those text pieces into google translate separately in order to read just 1 page. Very tedious.

Does anyone know a way to apply google translate to the entire book? It would make reading it much easier.
Or if someone knows how to bypass the character limit on a macbook, so i can just copy paste an entire page per time on google translate, that would work too.

Don't think GT is that good for translating a lot of pages, they tend to lose the context in the middle of the way... I know this since I'm an interpreter myself.
You should try Deepl or ChatGPT. But of course for a lot of pages, it'd require paid subscription.
If you have Calibre, consider installing this plugin: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=353052 and tinker with it a bit. Good luck!
