Is there anyone on here who has the ability to create .EPUB files from a physical book? There are two books that I'm really wanting to have digitally, and would be willing to buy the books and ship them to you, allowing you to keep the physical copies when done, (I have one of them) and as long as it's reasonable, compensate you in some manner for creating .EPUB's.

I have no idea what goes into making this, so the cost of having someone do this may be out of my abilities to do, but I would like some idea of if someone could do this.

Thanks!

You can scan them, then use an ocr software to convert the images to text, then you have to reread to correct the errors.

Yeah, I don't have the abilities/know how/time to do that type of thing. I figured maybe there's someone out there that's done this a lot/regularly and wouldn't mind doing something like it.

A long shot, but figured I'd at least ask. 8)

I can do it using OCR, but without the proper setup, it would take prohibitively long to do a complete book. Here is a forum devoted to digitizing books:

Code: Select all http://www.diybookscanner.org/forum/index.php

You could probably find a member there who can do it for monetary consideration.
