So long story short, my Mom is going through Chemo and is always looking for new things to read during treatments. She loves light-hearted/funny mysteries with themes.

She prefers authors like Joanne Fluke, Diane Mott Davidson, Jessica Beck, Cleo Coyle, etc. She'll read PNR but it has to be on the really light end of the spectrum as she's not a huge fan (she likes Jayne Castle/Jayne Ann Krentz as an example).

Any suggestions would be most welcome as I've picked Good Reads clean for suggestions!

Thanks so much in advance.

Off the top of my head:

Elizabeth Peters : Amelia Peabody mysteries
If your mother enjoys audiobooks, Barbara Rosenblat brings the cast of characters to life.

Isaac Asimov : Black Widower mysteries

Patricia Wentworth : Miss Silver mysteries

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle : Sherlock Holmes

Georgette Heyer : Inspector Hannasyde and Inspector Hemingway mysteries

And there is always ....
Agatha Christie : Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot mysteries

Hope these recommendations help your mother through this difficult time.

Also Agatha Christie's Tuppence and Tommy books, quite a bit lighter than the Poirot books.

I also strongly recommend the Kate Shugak series about Alaska, by Dana Stabenow. They usually put me in a good mood!
Try Kate Wilhelm's series about a couple, Charlie and Constance. From Goodreads it looks like there may be 12 of them. But not the more recent Barbara Holloway series -- they're very good, but not lighthearted at all.
