What reading age and genre are you looking for? I'm afraid that, off the top of my head, I can't really think of fantasy or adventure books for childeren I enjoyed as an adult, too. I tried the 'How to Train Your Dragon' books for example, but I didn't like them as an adult. I reread 'Ella Enchanted' by Gail Carson Levine and Monica Furlong's 'Wise Child', 'Juniper' and 'Colman' as a young adult, but I haven't reread them since, so I don't know if they are interesting for an adult.
There are some childeren's books I like, but I don't know of they are what you're looking for; they aren't comparable with the Hobbit, I'm afraid. I'll list some of them:
- 'George' by Alex Gino
- 'Gold Medal Summer' by Donna Freitas,
- 'How to Speak Dolphin' by Ginny Rorby,
- 'Counting by 7s' by Holly Goldberg Sloan,
- 'Fish in a Tree' by Lynda Mullaly Hunt,
- 'Abby Spencer Goes to Bollywood' by Varsha Bajaj,
- 'The Great Wall of Lucy Wu' by Wendy Wan-Long Shang.
Is this something you are looking for or would like something more adventureous?

The Harry potter Series by J.K. Rowling. It's a kids series but I enjoyed it as an adult.

Hmm...good question.
Well,I can probably second Harry Potter because a lot of people like em.
I know a lot of adults who love Joe Ambercrombie's novels, and that's Young Adult.
