Yeah, I'm a 52 year old guy who likes cozies, sue me! But I LOVE the truly funny ones, so any rec's on some?

OMG, I'm so happy to hear that, Castleman66! I'll keep my eye on this topic and I hope Stretton dials in - they seem to devour cozies like hot chocolate chip cookies. :)

Most cozies I've read weren't knee-slappers but they were at least amusing. YMMV. I also tend to favor books with cats (I lost mine some time ago and I still grieve) or animals. I'm not big on romances, but that comes with the territory so I just deal with it.

Back later with some titles.

Good for you! Real men can read cozies AND wear pink or purple shirts!
I think my first cozy ever was one of the Lilian Jackson Braun series, The Cat Who...........which numbers 29 books. The author passed away in 2011, but I think the series will stay around forever. Here is a link to her page: https://www.fantasticfiction.com/b/lilian-jackson-braun/
Here is a page link which lists quite a few authors of cozy mysteries: https://www.fantasticfiction.com/genres/?gp=CM
The website has a great search engine, and the book links will take you to a page where you can check for them on Amazon. Amazon is pretty good about giving a few pages to read, to see if you like a book.
Good luck!

Confessions of a Slightly Neurotic Hitwoman by J.B. Lynn
Miss Cuddlywumps Investigates series by Roby Sweet
Old Age Private Eye series by A.W. Blakely (2nd book is better than the first. Not hilarious but I like it.)

Just a few notes: I'm partial to cats. Other animals welcome. Funny is in the amigdala of the beholder. Or is that "of the amigdalating"? I have what seems a ton of cozies I haven't even started yet. :( And I second FantasticFiction.com. Also, www.cozy-mystery.com

What were your favorites, Castleman66?

Try the Merry Wrath series by Leslie Langtry. It's up to 7 books and #8 is due out on July. The series starts with Merit Badge Murder, where a former CIA agent is hiding out in suburbia and now is a Girl Scout troop leader. :)

Have you tried Her Royal Spyness series by Rhys Bowen?
I also highly recommend James Anderson's Inspector Wilkins trilogy. These are brilliant humorous pastiches of the Golden Age country house type mysteries.
You could also try anything penned by the Little sisters, Constance and Gwenyth. All their novels are wacky and hilarious.
Then, of course, there's Edmund Crispin. Not all of his works are laugh out loud funny, but Holy Disorders and The Moving Toyshop are two of the funnier ones.
