Hi! I am always looking for recommendations for fictional books/series that have minimal or no romance. A tiny bit of romance here and there as long as it does not distract from the story is fine, since it seems nearly impossible to find a book or series with zero romance at all. I really like Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Steampunk, Urban Fantasy, Supernatural, Thrillers, Historical Drama... Oh, and a bonus would be female protagonist(s).

I would also prefer no YA, but if a book/series is exceptionally good I will check it out.

Any suggestions? Thanks! :)

Try The Others series by Anne Bishop. It's got a female protagonist, and is set in an alternate world set like this:

What if the Native Americans were shapeshifters, and when the Europeans arrived they were a LOT better at fighting the invaders? How would 'North America' have evolved over the centuries?

It's six books long with #7 coming out next March. Same female protagonist in the first 5 books. Action, humor, worldbuilding and very little romance or sex.

That sounds fantastic and a super interesting concept, thank you so much for the suggestion!
