I've recently enjoyed the following
Jasper FForde Thursday Next series, Gabrielle Kruger (Narrator);
Tom Sharpe Vintage stuff, Stephen Fry (Narrator),
Jane Austen Pride & Prejudice and Sense & Sensibility, Rosamund Pike (Narrator)

I'm not keen on romance - but has anyone one any good recommendations for audio books?

Fforde has a trilogy called, "The Last Dragonslayer." They are more for adolescents or teens, but you know that Jasper Fforde leaves a bit of his wit and magic on every page, regardless. It is even more humorous in my opinion.

The audio books of the Song of Ice and Fire series (popularly known as Game of Thrones) by George R R Martin are excellently narrated by Roy Dotrice.

Another excellently narrated book was - The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray

I find The Hobbits narrated by Rob Inglis is enchanting.

I find The Hobbits narrated by Rob Inglis is enchanting.

Rob Inglis could read a phone book to me and I'd listen. He did a great job on Lord of the Rings as well as The Hobbit.

I also enjoy listening to Peter Wickham, especially to M.J. Trow's Peter Maxwell series.

Andy Serkis does a new narration of the Hobbit and LoTR.

Anything by Khristine Hvam

Also, most Graphic Audio productions are pretty good.
