City of Thieves by David Benioff is my favorite of the year so far. It is set in Leningrad during the siege, so not exactly happy fun time, but a great read!

I recently read The Annihilation series by Saxon Andrew. I think there are 7 books in the series, and 4 books in the 2nd series (Ashes of the Realm). The books are quite short and story oriented - there's a lot going on, and very little character development and world building - so it's a very fast read. The story is quite entertaining, so I managed to read the whole series in 2 weeks only during my break time at work.

Ellery adams - Books by the bay or Joan Fluke's Hannah Swendsen.

I just finished reading Warehouse 13: Touch of Fever by Greg Cox but I'm also working my way through the Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard and the Dexter series by Jeff Lindsay. I really recommend the Dexter series and the Warehouse 13 novel even if you have never seen either of the TV series. They give you enough information and the Dexter series is based off the first book in the series, Darkly Dreaming Dexter. The Warehouse 13 novel was written after the show was established but it gives you all the information you need if you haven't seen the show too.

The Pretty Little Liars is not something I'd recommend per se. It's really juvenile, frivolous and obviously a YA series. That said, it is entertaining enough for me with all the drama and mystery. It's a true guilty pleasure series.

Just finished the memoir "They Poured Fire on Us from the Sky" by Benjamin Ajak, Alepho and Benson Deng. I bought a hard copy forever ago, found it (noticed it among the rubble) when I was moving last weekend and devoured it. So, so good. Not fiction and while I tend to prefer fiction, I really loved this book and highly recommend it.

Currently reading:
The Woman Who Died A Lot by Jasper Fforde (His Thursday Next books are fun reads).
The Murdoch Archipelago by Bruce Page (which is only reinforcing the view that Rupert Murdoch is a dangerous force in the media).
God's War; A New History of the Crusades by Christopher Tyerman.
World Without End by Ken Follett (so far the miniseries of the book is absolute crap).
The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers Omnibus by Gilbert Shelton.

Reading Trust No One by Alex Walters - badly in need of some tight editing , too much meandering away from the plot but it sets a cracking pace once it does stay on plot.

Next to read is Next of Kin by Elsebeth Egholm

The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton, it really held my interest, so I have now started another of her books The Distant Hours - a bit slow so far.

Working on the Vlad Taltos (Sword & Sorcery) series by Steven Brust and about to finish #3 [Teckla]. Last read thru was 20 some years ago and it's refreshing to not only remember some parts, but rediscover new things that were missed [OK, so the old fart just forgot - SSHHssssh!!!!!].
