Give the Young Sherlock Holmes a read, those are pretty good. Also, Charlie Bone series is really good.
I second the Septimus Heap ones as well!

The Ranger's Apprentice series is similar, but without magic. More about a boy who becomes a sneaky ranger guy.

And, of course, have you read Eragon? lol

The Eragon series is a great series if you like Lord of the Rings type books. It's nearly at the top of my favorites list. I just started the Bartimaeus series and I'm liking it so far. Others on my favorites list are I Am Number Four, Septimus Heap, Artemis Fowl, Divergent, City of Ember, The Golden Compass, The Hunger Games, Inkheart, and Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel. Hope this helps.

Hello . I'm a Rick Riordan fan too
I second The Ranger's Apprentice . It's about coming of age , taking up responsibilities , a new life etc . About joining an Elite team of Rangers . They are confident , decisive , responsible peace-keepers . They are known for their deadly aim in archery and for the clever , easy way they solve problems and the mysterious aura about them . Besides , the book has some really good characters and some even more really good humour
Even Rick Riordan said he liked it in twitter if I remember right . You must have seen this before , but anyway here's a link to books Rick Riordan recommends
Eragon is a mash up of LOTR , Star Wars and some other books . But it does have some charm and atmosphere , even though I was really annoyed at the way some characters were treated like heroes by the author and his other characters when what they did was anything by heroic . But it was kind of rectified in the end . So it's an ok book to read if you haven't watched Star Wars , cos it's rather heavily 'influenced' by it

I highly recommend Eoin's Artemis Fowl series! But for something also fantasy and a bit more "adult" A song of ice and fire is great as well.
