So what was the last great book you read? What made you like it so much?

I've read so many great books, it's hard to narrow it down to just one. Since I got my Kindle, Feb 2011, I've widely expanded my genres and experienced so many new authors. Incredible journey.

You also may get a better response by asking this question in the 'eBook Discussion' section....there may already be a topics on it. :D Check it out...

'Born in Africa: The Quest for the Origins of Human Life' by Martin Meredith makes me want to dig in my yard in search of prehistoric tools!

I am reading Emily the Strange Books 1 - 4 right now . I am already on Book 3, (I haven't found any download link for book 4, yet) it isn't that great but is interesting and has humour :D

Another is Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children. Very interesting and full of adventure :)

Well, sounds intriguing, I will check it out!

And I read (or should I say - listened to) "Marco Polo: From Venice to Xanadu" by Laurence Bergreen. I now know what is the body position which helps to prolong the life of the women ;)

I just read Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi the other day. It's the first in what looks to be a trilogy and I could barely put it down.

A girl find out at a young age she has the power to kill someone just by touching their skin. She was ostracized for years before being locked up in solitary for nearly a year. Someone breaks her free only to be used for military purposes.

Very much a dystopian, post-apocalyptic world-type book.

Shades of Gray by Brooke McKinley. Her prose is so beautiful, it's been a long time since I read something where the words captured me as much as the story. Can't wait for more from her.

I read "The secret holocaust diary" the other day, It made me so angry as it just comes across as so fake, so I was glad to put it away and start reading "Miss Peregine's home for perculiar children". Its a bit of a kids book, but its brilliant, nicely written, warm, enchanting characters etc

Everyone's right. Great is really based on perspective and what aspect of the book you are looking for to be great.

I recently read Amy Lane's Promise Rock series and I found it to be an interesting longer M/M series that was emotionally full of punches.
I re-read life of Pi recently and I have always liked that book.

But I have to say that it has been a while since I have been able to find a really really great book, in all dimensions. The new Mitch Albom book has come out and I have to go get a copy so I can read that...people say that's good!

I just finished Divergent and Insurgent by Veronica Roth. The world that she has created reminds me of The Hunger Games.
