Hi all,

This is going to be a bit random but the harry potter series started me reading, prior to reading Harry Potter I wouldn't read any novels at all. I didn't find the Harry Potter novels until the first movies came out.

Five Find Outers (or Mystery) Series, Famous Five & Secret Seven books for me. Then onto Roald Dahl and the Hardy Boys.

Stephen King got me started reading. I'm 33 now and was in the 5th grade when a friend gave me a copy of IT. It scared the holy terror outta me. Been hooked ever since. To this day, I still cast a wary eye in the direction of any sewer grate I pass and people have told me, I will do my best to avoid them without realizing it.
