The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini made me want more action + fantasy + romance then my friend gave me the Blood Singer series by Cat Adams last summer to read and that really got me going into paranormal + action. Now for the past year I've read about a book a day. There's almost nothing more enjoyable than a great book for me now.

David Weber - On Basilisk Station after that it was around 1 to 2 books per week for a few years. Im currently looking for new ones but most are becoming boring as u can guess the end after a few chapters or there writing style doesn't work for me.

The Hobbit by Tolkien. I still don't know why, but we actually read it in elementary school (3rd grade). I read a bunch of kids books prior to that, of course, but the Hobbit was the book that made me leave the children's section in our public library in search for more, after I devoured it in less than 2 days (we had the whole schoolyear to read it).
To my shame I must admit that I never gave the book back to my school as I was forced to switch schools in the middle of the year, due to my family moving. Still have it standing in my bookshelf, silently judging me ;)

"The Great and Secret Show" by Clive Barker. Back when I was a teenager, I didn't think I had the patience or commitment to read an entire novel. Cliver Barker's "Cabal" was my first and it was very rewarding, but it was "The Great and Secret Show" that proved to me that this was my favorite entertainment medium.

Little Woman by Louisa May Alcott (but it is the only book by her that I've read,) it was an edition from a collection with classics, at end I finished reading all the collection, it was amazing; that when I was 13, today I am 27 and I really love to read, unfortunaley not some many classics :-D

Shel Silverstein and Roald Dahl. Those two authors ignited a passion for reading when I was a kid that has continued on into adulthood. I always took the late bus home from school in middle school and high school because I would stay after in the library reading. :D
