I've read hundreds of books in my lifetime, but there are some that just make such an impression on me, that I've had to return to them for at least a second read. Do you have any books that have impressed you enough to read them again?
My list:
Gone With the Wind, by Margaret Mitchell. I wore out my first copy, and was given another. I have also seen the movie several times, and got it when it came out on dvd.
The Stand, by Stephen King. This is my favorite of all King's novels, and I have read it at least 3 times, and also have the movie on dvd.
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, by C.S. Lewis. Never read these as a child, but was asked out on a date to go see this movie. I loved it so much, went to see it again with family for Christmas. Then my nephew gave me a book for Christmas with the Narnia stories, of which this is one. I've read all the stories more than once, and have all 3 of the Narnia movies.
Swan Song, by Robert McCammon. In many ways similar to The Stand, it is a great book in it's own right, and the author has some other wonderful books out there. I think I have read this at least 3 times.

The Lion, the Witch, the Wardrobe is one book that I too find myself rereading every once in a while.
Anthem by Ayn Rand is another book I like to reread because I like its message of hope.
Animal Farm is another that I reread because every time I reread I just keep seeing how cruel those pigs really were.

I've posted too quickly really... :/

I re-read different books as a child. My favourite children's author was Roald Dahl and I read several other famous authors but mostly because the books were there and what I had access to.

Mind you, I like to re-read a lot of books because the well written ones have clues early on in the story arc that make more sense the second time around. It's like how everyone I know had to re-watch The Matrix to get the most out of the original film.

Re-reading a good book lets me get more out of it. :)

Terry Pratchett definitely, whenever I was out of new books to read (before e-books obviously!), I'd alaways pick one from my library and re-read it. My favourites are the withces series, the NightWatch series, the TiffanyAching, and almost all of them really except Rincewind, I don't like him so much.
I guess I must have read some of them 6 or 7 times, and I still love them!

The Roald Dahl children books are also a favourite, as well as Harry POtter (for whom I don't enjoy the movies so much, they are really poor.

I just love JD Salinger's books, but I admit I haven't reread them for a while.
