Harry Potter. These books are a source of comfort to me and even though I started reading them when I was half my current age, they are so timeless that I never feel like I can't read them anymore at this point in my life.

I am constantly torn between wanting to revisit books I know are good and won't disappoint me and exploring new books because there are so many that I have yet to discover.

FuzzyReader wrote:If I like a book (or series) I read it over and over, particularly if a new book in a series comes out. I usually read the older books in the series in that case.

I'm the same way, Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time Series nearly broke my brain (and my wrists and my back carrying around all those big books) and I've just gotten the last book and am getting ready to tackle it AGAIN.

The Pern Books by Anne McAffery

I've read the Stand a bluejillion times

I've read Song of Ice and Fire about once a year since I discovered it when it first hit HBO (Why had no one pointed that one out to be before then?)

Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson series.

The Hobbit and LOTR

There are a lot of series I've re-read repeatedly.

C. J. Cherryh's Foreigner series… over and over and over again. And some of her other series.

I love the worlds and complex cultures Cherryh builds and keep wanting to go back to visit my old friends again.
