Between sci-fi and fantasy, I'm not sure which one I prefer. I like them both, and fantasy has stuff like Xanth by Piers Anthony, Discworld by Terry Pratchett, and many more favorites, while science fiction has The Stainless Steel Rat by Harry Harrison, Pern by Anne McCaffrey, Honor Harrington by David Weber, and so on. If it's humorous, all the better, although I still enjoy serious science fiction and fantasy.
A little below Sci-fi and fantasy is mystery, I'm not widely read in that field, but I enjoy Sherlock Holmes, The Cat Who... by Lillian Jackson Braun, Midnight Louie and the Irene Adler mysteries by Carole Nelson Douglas, some of the old 30s-40s writers, etc. I guess I prefer the cozy mystery genre, to thrillers, hard-boiled, suspense, etc.
I still enjoy lots of juvenile fiction, particularly those books and series I grew up with long ago: The Hardy Boys, Tom Swift, Encyclopedia Brown, The Mad Scientists' Club, The Happy Hollisters, The Borrowers, Narnia, and more.
