I admit, i loved Robert silverburgs "Gilgamesh" and Michael Crichtons eaters of the dead.
I'm sure there were a few others that i should not have forgotten, but did.
But i would love to find more.

I am not looking for bastardized versions with modern morals and or today's social issues.
I just cannot read the prose or "accurate" translations ever again either.

A nice easy mostly faithful retelling of the core story done well is all i ask.

Any historic epic rewritten, novelization. Myths, legends whatever.

Do you know of any?
