The Earliest novel I can remember reading is Pride and Prejudice i was either 9 or 10

hmm. the earliest novel i actually remember reading (that hasn't been a classic "adapted for children" or one of those sweet valley-like serials, because i cannot for the life of me recall when i first started reading those things) ...

i think it was jurassic park, in fourth grade.

Actually, I think Public Secrets by Nora Roberts is the first novel I recall reading. I was about 8 lol.

I love that book I went through my Nora Roberts Obsession at 12 lol

Fyodor Dostoyevsky - Crime & punishment , when I was bout 12.. I'd read all the books in the kids section at the public library so decided to move to adult.

Re-read it more recentl but realised I'd missed most of the nuances & messages.

Rip Van Winkle or one of the Goosebumps books, I don't remember.

The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, by Robert Louis Stevenson. It was shourter than Dracula and more straightforward than Frankenstein, both of which I also attempted at age 7. (I was kinda into horror, y'know.)

My very first novel, ignoring the comics stuff, was Harry Potter 6. I then went on to book 7 and started reading from book 1. Backwards....

Earliest novel would be Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets when I was 6. (HP Gen FTW!)

Gulliver's travel or Treasure Island when I was 10 years old.

One Hundred and One Dalmatians when I was about six

Then I discovered science fiction at around 10-11. I think it was one of Doc Smith's stories, and I've never looked back
