Marielon books by Patricia Wrede have a teacher student dynamic. But they aren't romance heavy.

Some good romantic fantasy : Sevenwaters series by Juliet Marrilier, Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley, Any book by Rosamund Hodge, Thief Errant series by Elizabeth Bunce.

Lynsay Sands' Argeneau Vampires series. It's set in modern times, but the author does some very good worldbuilding for the vampire communities. Plus it's not all set in the United States, which is a plus.

Robyn Peterman's Fashionably Dead and Ready to Were series. There is romance in the books, but with tongue planted VERY firmly in cheek and with plenty of sex. The lead characters really do learn to love each other in each book, so I guess they could be 'romance'. (There is also the bonus of the Baby Demons in the first series. They are freaking hilarious!)
