I've been away for my reading device for a few months now and have had literally no time to open a real book and now that I have time, I just don't know what to read.
Do you ever have that problem ? If so, how do you get over...reader's block ?
I'm an avid romance reader but I am open to any suggestion. Maybe I just need to switch things up from reading the same stuff U.u
And I've been thinking about reading a Stephen King book but I don't know which one to start with, perhaps The Stand or Under the Dome ? So from the more seasoned King readers out there, what's a good start ?

The Stand is my all-time favorite Stephen King novel, so give it a try! I tend to be all across the board: sci-fi, mystery, cozy mystery, young adult [which I am way past, but good light reading]. I just finished reading Emilie and the Hollow World, and Emilie and the Sky World, by Martha Wells. They are sort of steam punk type, YA, and I enjoyed them a lot. Got them both here.

I tend to have several books going at once; if I get bogged down in one, start back in with the other. Sometimes that doesn't work, and I just start something new, to see if that will help, and it usually does. I've been a reader most of my life, and I like to read books that deal with a certain locality or profession. I live in Arizona now, but moved here from Washington state, and particularly like books about the Northwest.

If you get interested in mystery/detective type books, this is an awesome website: http://www.stopyourekillingme.com/
They have books listed by author, and you can also select from indexes: profession, location, genre, historical, or diversity.

If you are avid romance reader the nice junction to Stephen king could be 11/22/63. It is in fact a great love story ;-) despite histrorical fiction, time travel etc...

As far as SK books go, I'd recommend:

The Green Mile
Misery
The Shining
Under The Dome
Duma Key
11/22/63
The Dark Half
Nightmares & Dreamscapes
Four Past Midnight
The Long Walk

Other (non SK) recommendations:
The Unusual Pilmgrimage of Harold Fry - Rachel Joyce
Yes Man / Friends Like These / Charlotte Street - Danny Wallace
Are We Nearly There Yet? - Ben Hatch
Dinner For Two / My Legendary Girlfriend / Brand New Friend - Mike Gayle
Ready Player One - Ernest Cline
Headhunters - Jo Nesbo
The Borribles - Michael de Larrabeiti

For starters...

to add my own two cents:

I've been reading King since Carrie came out, and the one book that always manages to raise the littel hairs on the back of my neck is... 'Salem's Lot, his modern take on Dracula. I grew up in a small town, and his approach to the secrets people keep is spot-on. And then there are the vampires....

Thank you all for your answers :)
I'll probably start with 11/22/63 :D It's already on my reader XD And I'll read The Stand because so many people seem to love it ! Also, Salem's Lot seems on the scarier side so yeah, I'll definitely give it a shot :D
I'll also look deeper into your suggestions, Jaysee. And thank you Firewong for your in dept answer :D

The Stand or Talisman if you want to settle for a good long read.
Firestarter for what I reckon is a good sci Fi
Or if you want a good collection, try the Bachman Books.

My first King book was Christine, but my all time favorite of his will always be IT.

I am big into books by Kay Hooper at moment. I tend to go back to her Bishop series and re read them from the start to now.

I've been in love with Talisman since the age of 13. The Stand, It and i really really like The Dead Zone. Don't know why but it makes me so sad every single time.

His The Gunslinger series, starting with The Dark Tower is great - though very different to his other books, as fantasy rather than horror

My first Stephen King book was Nightmares and Dreamscapes. They edited these short stories in about six books in Spanish, and the one with "The Moving Finger" was my first. It was insane. Instantly hooked!
