I saw a novel about a guy and his wolf sent into an apocalyptic future, but I can't remember the name of either.

Anyone?

I'm currently Reading Neal Stephenson's latest book; Seveneves, about how the human race reacts to a heavenly body passing through the moon leading to it's break up and eventual disintegration, which leaves the earth a burning ball of death.
The only survivors being those sent up to a hurriedly expanded ISS.
It's an 750 page epic, rather quite dry and chock full of technical details mixed with the dread of of knowing the human race is living on a knife edge.
