Is anyone else feeling like an obscene amount of romance releases are centred around MC's or Bikers ?

It's like the market is being saturated with them.
I think it paints Motorcycle Clubs in entirely the wrong light. If I saw a member of a Biker Gang walking toward me? I would run screaming in the other direction. But that's just me.

And DO NOT get me started on Step-Brother romances *shudders*

of course in RL i'd be scared, but if you're talking about Jax from SONS, totally different story. that's why i like books better, the bad ass guy is sexy but i'm still safe to fawn over.

The whole step brother/sister thing, i'm not really understanding the appeal

Inability to start a new book because you're still living in the last book's world

I think that for books, like everything else, what is popular changes. For a while because of FSOG, there were a ridiculous number of books about billionaires in their mid-twenties. Before that, it was vampires and werewolves everywhere. I could keep going forever. Right now, because of Son's of Anarchy, it seems to be bikers. On the plus side, if it is something you don't like, you don't have to put up with it for very long. In six months or so, there will be something else that seems to be everywhere.

As far as the step siblings goes, I share you opinion but there are much worse things out there.

I do not really care for the MC romances but I do admit to enjoying Step-brother dearest by Penelope Ward not because of the theme but because it was an enjoyable book from a author I like. The books that all seem to be turning up after it ... no thank you!

And how about all the BDSM genre's flooding the market also. Seems like half of those MC romances have some of that in them too.

Yep, MC are just not my thing either. I was just attempting to read Dragon's Lair by Chantal Fernando, but gave up after a couple of chapters.
The so-called 'hero' just comes across as a small minded thug.
IMO romance is like fashion - this year everyone is reading MC or stepbrothers, last year it was BDSM, the year before that werewolves, and so on. If I don't like this year's fashion, I just read older books and hope that the fade will pass soon

I love well written full length MC/Biker novels. Just finished the ARC of Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley and loved it. All these shorts and novellas...no thanks they are mostly just sex no story.

Haven't dipped into the "step" books yet but I do have it loaded on my reader. We'll see:)

Oh god I totally agree with you right there! I'm so sick of every single book having some kind of BDSM type scene in it, whether it happens to be an MC book or not.

Kristen Ashley's Chaos series is great, but most of the other ones out there are just meh in my opinion

I personally don't mind the MC books, having grown up in an area where there were quit a few and never had any problems with them. I do think that most of them are a little demeaning towards women but not all of them. The MC books will taper off eventually. I personally don't care for the Vampire/Shifter books that have been the rage for the past few years or any other paranormal-like books and they seem to be ebbing away. It's really not so different than the Indian and Western romances of the 80s and 90s. I haven't read any of the Step-brother books simply because they don't interest me and seems a little weird to me. I had a friend that married her step-brother and it didn't go well so maybe that's why.

I love the mc romance books. They are a club not a gang. I love badass heroes and alpha males. I cannot get the step-brother because it's to close to being family.

I am so into MC Romance. Especially wrote by Sam Crescent and Jenika Snow. Yeah, that was hot series even when they all typical great looking hero and full figure heroine, but the love? HOT!!
For stepbrother romance, yeah, so..so... some of them really HOT and sweet like Stepbrother dearest by Penelope Ward, but the other was not good
