It's the 4th book in the Darkest London series - steampunk romance set in Victorian England.
The whole series is good imo.
On a completely different note, I'm listening to The Hostage Bride by Jane Feather on my Ipod.
Good, but I'm cursed with the tendency to search for anachronisms when I read historicals, and so I'm very critical.
For example, would potatoes have been normal fare on the English-Scottish border in the 1640s? I have a few doubts
