If you don't know that author yet, reach for her Little Black Book and its sequel. For me it was something akin to a discovery and breath of fresh air. You cannot associate it with any today's trend in romance writing like new adult, MCs, movie and rock stars, sportsmen/fighters, hitmen/spies, law enforcers, Adult Entertainment Performers, billionaires, doms/subs etc. The atmosphere in LBB is heavy and heady, full of emotions and painfull memories. Of course, it involves a damsel in distress, but there is no knight in the shining armor
I also recommend: Sacked, Slammer (chills your body but still is a ROMANCE!), On the Plus Side and the Jack Hammer series.
Ms. Vargo's books are not childish or every-day stories, believe me.
