Yes, I have read the first 3 books of the Shadowland series.
BDSM in small doses has always peeked an interest. The hubs would appreciate MORE of an interest of course.

Have you heard of Kristen Ashley ? She's a self published author and her stuff is really good. Bossy alpha males, but no whips and floggers. I have really enjoyed reading her stuff. I guess it wouldn't be considered BDSM. Her latest release, Creed ( Book #2 in the unfinished hero series), leans towards the erotica category, but you have to read Book #1 first. Or atleast that's what I recommend. I have read ALL her books except the vampire ones.

Confession: I hate Vampire romance, PERIOD......

ooooh no i've not heard of her... i shall investigate further. One of my FB friends will sure to have heard and read her books i'm sure of it. thank you.

I have to admit while i read the Black Dagger Brotherhood...well...a few of them anyway...i don't love Vampire romance...well not a lot of it anyway.

another recommendation is Allyson James...Tales of the Shareem... rather splendid if i may say so... theyre genetically enhanced males...bread for sex and pleasure..ugh..sounds like heaven! lol. there are 7 books in the series and all rather good.

I haven't read them so I can't say if they're good or bad, but considering the reviews I conclude that all who say 'Wow! that was so good, I want me some' mean the books and those who say 'Oh my, I couldn't take it any more' mean the writing style and just plain mistakes.

I thought of reading them but then I checked Goodreads and all basically all the reviews were either 1* or 5* so I read the 1* to prepare for the worst. I almost died of laughter as the reviews came with JPEGs and GIFs. So I am glad I read the reviews and I made the decision to avoid reading Grey books as much as possible.

Paharett: I have read so much stuff following the Greys books, and I can't even bring myself to admit it all got started by it. People ask me are you still in the grey books, and I always get defensive. My first response is always
"I STARTED READING THOSE BOOKS IN MARCH,
A:) HOW MANY BOOKS DO YOU THINK SHE WROTE ??????
B:) HOW SLOW OF A READER DO YOU THINK I AM ?????
C:) Are you aware that her writing sucks by comparison to the plethora of good writers out there ????
D:) I have so moved on from EL James !!!! "

Heh... My favorite author is Kristen Ashley LOVE LOVE LOVE HER !!! Nothing kinky, a little rough sometimes, but lots of story and drama.

I don't know if it's because I read Anne Rice's the Claiming of Sleeping Beauty trilogy before the Grey series but it felt really tame in comparison. That and the fact that Ana gives Bella a run for her money in the Mary Sue department.

Ugh, EVERY time she said either, "Jeeze...", "Holy ____", "What does he mean?" I wanted to scream.

:D yeah, weird isn't when people think you take a month to read a book, full-length book (300k pages or so) doesn't take more than 8 hours, if it's easy going. There are lots of bad writing out there, I'm sure I've read some but I can't quite remember, I've read thousands of books if my library card speaks true (I stopped reading in my native tongue when there wasn't anything interesting to read and I thought wait a sec... the books are all translated from English so why not read books in English?) There were books I DNF beacause the theme is repetitive - hero must defeat villain to win fair lady - boring. I know! My big crush lots of years ago was earlier works but Laurell K. Hamilton, Anita Blake books 1-9. The books were wow! And then book 13 came out and it was like was hit over the head with a hammer and stunned into finishing it. If I'd only known it would have been a definite DNF.
Anyway, I checked Kristen Ashley and I will definitely read her, starting with her Ghost and Reincarnation trilogy (Penmort, Sommersgate, Lacybourne), if I find the links of course. Hm.

If you have trouble finding KA books let me know. I have everything she's written, except the vampire ones. I am totally into Twlight movies, but I can't bare to think of myself as a paranormal reader. I haven't even read the twilight books, and now after watching the movies and swooning over edward cullen, i don't think I could dream up a better looking or more appropriate hot guy in my head.

Happy Reading...
