Hi, I was wondering if anyone can recommend me historical romances with any of these scenarios:
1. hero disguises himself as a servant to the heroine/heroine's household/whatever household
2. hero/heroine switch identity with someone else, preferably a family member (I've already read The Switch by Lynsay Sands and the one by Emma Wildes)
3. the heroine not being a "respectable lady" and does all sorts of wild things like carriage rides and gambling for fun
4. people know the hero as a rake but he is really not (like have a spy identity. ex: Bridal Favors by Connie Brockway)
5. heroine abandons her lady status NOT because of a big secret like family ruin. Any other reason would do

6. This one is easy: just ANY historical romance where the story is very light with no huge misunderstanding, no strong or actual villains trying to thwart a plan or kill someone, and simply the two characters fall in love (preferably not with class difference...too much drama).

If someone can recommend me books that fit any of these, I'd greatly appreciate the help. :D

1. Love Letters from a Duke (H is mistaken for footman and goes with it) and Mad About the Duke (H is mistaken for solicitor and goes with it)- both by Elizabeth Boyle

2. The Secret Duke by Jo Beverley- H pretends to be his half brother, a notorious pirate/smuggler. (Actually, both brothers take turns as the pirate, but the h, of course, has no idea he's actually a duke.)

3. Then Came You by Lisa Kleypas

4. Stealing the Bride by Elizabeth Boyle and To Love a Wicked Lord by Edith Layton- In both of these, the heroes are thought to be mindless dandies, but are in fact spies.
His at Night by Sherry Thomas- H pretends to be an idiot, but is also a spy.

5. I'm not entirely sure what you mean for this one.

6. This is far too broad, and I'm completely blanking out.

Hopefully you'll find something you like among all of these!

Thanks for your recommendations! I've read most of Elizabeth Boyle, Then Came You, and His at Night. Already put Jo Beverley's novel on my to-be-read list.
As for no.5, sorry for the ambiguity, but I meant something like lady throws away her status as gentry and lives as a commoner but not because of some huge family secret or that she is ruined, but for any other reason. (examples of ladies who do hide their status because of huge secret is The Rake by Mary Jo Putney, and Loving Lady Marcia by Kieran Kramer)

I read somewhere that books by Amelia Grey are lighthearted and easy read. Guess what I'm asking for here is to not involve an evil villain or a race against race in the story but just two people coming to love each other.

ugh! what fun is that ? Try anthologies or omnibus releases, that is, one book consists of short stories from couple of authors, like : Rules of Engagement, Royal Bridesmaids Anthology

Well, you can always check them out yourself since I have noooo idea at all,

So much for my recommendations!

Let's see...

2. The Rogue's Return by Jo Beverley- Heroine pretends to be her dead half-sister.
The Secret Swan by Shana Abe- Heroine pretends to be her cousin when her husband, who deserted her soon after their wedding for battle, returns.

5. You might be interested in A Beginner's Guide to Rakes and Taming an Impossible Rogue by Suzanne Enoch- In the first one, the h opens a gambling club, and in the second one, the h jilts her fiancé and is cast off by her family, so now works at the gambling club.
An Unsuitable Bride by Jane Feather- The h pretends to be someone she's not in order to investigate the man who stole her inheritance.. (The first two in the series have similar premises, too, but I'm not sure I can really recommend any of them. I think the second one, A Wedding Wager, is probably the best, but it got pretty dark.)

Thanks LordRose and andree!

I have one final request -
heroine works for hero in his job or household (like The Rake by Mary Jo Putney and The Raven Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt) or vice versa. The only thing I don't want is the hero hiring the heroine to pose as a courtesan or hero works for the heroine in order to get something out of her (i.e. revenge).

To Have and To Hold by Patricia Gaffney- H hires h as his housekeeper. (This one does get pretty dark, though.)
The Bed and the Bachelor by Tracy Anne Warren- h is the housekeeper in this one, too, but it's because she's a French spy.
The Heir by Grace Burrowes- Another housekeeper heroine.
The Bookseller's Daughter by Pam Rosenthal- h is a maid in the H's house.
Sins of a Wicked Duke by Sophie Jordan- h disguises herself as a footman to avoid lecherous masters and is hired by the H.
The Tattooed Duke by Maya Rodale- The h is a newspaper writer, and is hired as a maid, but is actually using the position to spy on the H. The upcoming book, although it isn't published until October, is about one of the other writers and the newspaper editor.

I'm going to try the book by Georgette Heyer. :) And I've found Candace Camp's novels to fit the light read bill, especially her Matchmaker series. Anyone know similar authors?

I have to oppose your views on that one, 27bklvr. Due to the amount of great reviews on that book I went to read it, but half way through it the hero just rapes the heroine and the entire time he only was attracted to her solely because of her looks. Never among the countless romance novels I've read had the hero not like the heroine on other factors and had her consent before.

I didn't see any Julie Garwood book mentioned so I am now mentioning her... She's really good, actually the first author that made me want to read historical romances so I think that's something. Oh well. You can start with her Highlanders' Lair Series. The Secret, Ransom, and Shadow Music are books 1, 2, and 3 respectively.

You might want to try Sarah Maclean's books; they have plots similar to your requests. Further, you might enjoy Loretta Chase's Last Night's Scandal and books by Tessa Dare.
